New non-profit venture aims to cure chronic pancreatitis in 10 years

A new non-profit venture called Mission: Cure launched recently with the goal of finding an effective cure for chronic pancreatitis within 10 years.

The venture, which was incubated by the National Pancreas Foundation  and Cures Within Reach, brings together some of the top researchers and doctors dealing with the disease in an effort to bring focus, urgency and funding to the problem.  The organization will partner with healthcare payers and philanthropists to provide financial incentives for improving patient outcomes — a new concept known as “patient outcome financing.”

You can see Mission: Cure’s launch announcement here.  The organization also welcomes the help and support of patients, their families, caregivers, cost-bearers, and others interested in curing this debilitating disease.  Sign up for news or contact the organization here.

Finding a cure for chronic pancreatitis would be amazing for so many sufferers. I hope for this to happen in my lifetime or at least during my daughter’s lifetime.
